Harry Hardisty

Writer and founder of dadhugsforyoursoul

I'm Harry Hardisty. I write for women rebuilding after difficult relationships, and I started doing it because I was catastrophically bad at leaving one.

Eleven attempts, in the end. I worked out the method because nobody would tell me what I was actually supposed to do at eleven o'clock on a Tuesday night, so I had to find out the hard way. What came out of that is everything on this site.

I'm not a therapist and I never wanted to be. I write a fortnightly column for the i Paper, co-host the podcast Where You Left Them with Emma, and I answer the messages that arrive here, most of which turn up around eleven at night.

About dadhugsforyoursoul

dadhugsforyoursoul exists to help everyone to cope with life's most challenging moments – especially the challenge of ending emotionally unavailable or avoidant relationships.

Whether you were ghosted, strung along, or left in limbo, this space is here to help you make sense of the chaos and rebuild with confidence, clarity and compassion – building yourself up and designing a better approach to life in the process.

We're best known for the 30-Day No Contact Pack– a structured daily programme that combines grounded psychological insight with warmth, humour, and real-life experience. But dadhugsforyoursoul is more than just a downloadable pack. It's a voice in the dark. It's your reminder that you are not alone, and that healing is absolutely possible.

Every word you see here – from Harry's videos to the daily journal prompts – is designed to guide you back to your strongest, calmest self.

What We Stand For

We believe:

  • ✿You are not broken – you are healing.
  • ✿You don’t need fixing – you need support.
  • ✿You don’t need closure – you need clarity from within.
  • ✿You are allowed to feel pain – and you are capable of surviving it.
  • ✿You deserve secure, mutual, emotionally safe love.

We're here to pick up the reins, no matter how you're feeling, and offer you the emotional structure, practical wisdom, and a daily helping of encouragement, honesty, and hope to help you cope – and ultimately achieve the recovery which you might feel is completely out of reach today.

We're not interested in toxic positivity, wishy-washy advice, or pretending this is easy. But we are here to walk with you – one day at a time – until you feel steady on your own feet again.

And we're not here to replace therapy. It's got its place. But we are here to give you practical advice you can follow right away. Our advice works. Our system works. And our community works.
