Is Fifty a beautiful age to start again?

No Yes

Question of the Week

We asked you: what’s the loveliest touch that someone has surprised you with on a date? Emma loved the gentlemanly chap who put himself between her and the traffic when walking on the pavement. We all liked this chap from 1875. Until Harry trumped it with the lady who, after the date and not knowing Harry's home address, two days later sent him a hand-written thank-you card to his work address. Perhaps Mr 1875 would have won if he'd also sent a thank-you card with a wax seal... How about you? What's your perfect finishing touch?

This story made me wonder what our factory settings are. Are we born with self love installed? Is healing process more like making an major system update, a rediscovery of our brilliant primary functions, not building something new? And also: What makes some people gain power from hardships and others crumble? Whatever the answers are, it’s so so sad that beautiful people like Susanne have to carry and build up their self love despite the pain. I agree with Harry that her strength was built by difficult experiences but again - it’s so sad it couldn’t happen differently. All that time and energy that have to be spent just to survive and not live fully and happily… But hey, 50’s are a good time to make big changes and I feel that Susanne is destined to really make it. With all the strength and self love that comes with her story - it’s all going to be alright and there’s nothing she could do to stop it (but a lot to help it!) 🩵
