How do I stop waiting for an apology I'll never get?
Waiting for someone to acknowledge what they did hands them control over your recovery. Some people never apologise, because it would mean facing things they're avoiding. You can decide that what happened was wrong without their agreement. Write down what you needed to hear, as if from them, and read it back. Closure comes from what you conclude, however much or little they ever admit.
