Will they come back?

Some people do come back and many don't, and nobody can promise you either. Waiting to find out keeps your life on hold around their decision. It helps to ask a different question: if they came back tomorrow, unchanged, would you actually want what you had? For a lot of people the honest answer is no, and what they're longing for is the version of that person who was never quite there.
